A Community for Climate Action

Welcome to Climate Protectors Hawaiʻi

We are a network of individuals across the state of Hawaiʻi that cares deeply about climate change. Through this website, we hope to provide a space for community support through sharing inspiration, education, and opportunities to take action. We can change the trajectory towards better outcomes with action by all of us. Let’s do this together!

How we approach climate action

We believe in our own agency in helping to bring about change. We allow ourselves to follow our own interests and gifts to identify what is appropriate to each of us in our own circumstances. We may take action individually or collectively targeting any of the four levels of action:

Level 1: Individual

What can you do on your own? How can you evaluate and make changes in your own personal life and habits?

Level 2: Friends and Family

What can you do within your closest community? Maybe some of the personal habits and changes can become shared behaviors.

Level 3: Communities and Institutions

Consider your opportunities to spark change in your various roles beyond home, friends and family to consider your roles at school, work, associations, within social and volunteer organizations.

Level 4: Economy and Policy

Are you in a role to directly influence the economy and policy directly as part of your institutional role? Maybe not but you can still participate in being vocal in your advocacy for positive climate action.

Find community

There is a lot to unpack when it comes to climate change. As a community, we hold space for deep discussions, share our calls for action, and most importantly, share our wins!

Having a community also provides opportunities to share and shape our ideas, discover collaborators, and cheer us along our own personal journeys.

Learn and Take Action Together

There’s much to learn about climate science analysis, new innovations, changing contexts, and existing policies. Working collaboratively or coordinating our efforts provides opportunities for combined learning and action on the larger scale. Our diversity of skills, reach, and impact grow as our network grows. Your participation and contribution are welcomed.
